Jacksonville Independent School District will present “Internet Safety” with Janet Corder at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, in the Jacksonville High School auditorium. Corder currently serves as a vice president of the Texas Computer Education Association and is employed by Carroll ISD as Instructional Technology coordinator.

This seminar will help parents and the community learn about the dangers associated with popular networking sites such as MySpace, Xanga, and Facebook; gain insight on chat rooms, blogs, cyber-bullying; and find out what personal information your child may be posting on the Internet. As parents and educators, the challenge is to encourage the advantages of the Internet and at the same time protect our children/students from predators in cyberspace.

This is a free seminar and everyone in the community is encouraged to attend.
