NEAR TROUP — A 21-year-old Henderson man was killed early Saturday morning when the four-wheeler he was driving overturned and hit a fence post, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Steven Crosby.

The accident occurred just after 3 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of county roads 4618 and 4620, approximately 7 miles east of Troup. The man was not found until around 8 a.m. He was identified as Matthew Huddleston.

“He was traveling at a really high rate of speed, and he was highly intoxicated,” Crosby said. “He was attempting to turn right onto 4620, when he slid over and hit a fence post.”
