The Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce welcomes new member National Alliance on Mental Illness - Jacksonville Chapter.
NAMI Connection is a recovery support group program for people living with mental illness that is expanding in communities throughout the country.
These groups provide a place that offers respect, understanding, encouragement, and hope.
The NAMI recovery support groups meet weekly on Wednesdays for 90 minutes and is offered free of charge.
They follow a flexible structure with an education format and do not recommend or endorse any medications or other medical therapies.
The groups are led by trained individuals who are in recovery themselves.
They understand your daily challenges and can offer you encouragement and support.
All groups are confidential.
The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness.
If you have a diagnosis of mental illness and need a safe haven and are over 18 years of age, call Facilitators Suzanne Hardin or Chriss Musick at(903) 586-3786.
Also at their location is the Cherokee County Peer Support Group that has scheduled events on Mondays.
They have an art workshop, lunch, games and much more.
