Gladys Gordon Lusk, a 51-year-old Rusk woman, was arrested May 31 on a charge of assault causing bodily injury in a family violence case, Rusk authorities stated. She was booked into the Cherokee County Jail and released June 1.
Jail officials stated her bond was set at $2,000.
Two others were arrested in Rusk.
John Pierce, a 62-year-old, was arrested for charges of speeding, possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, using an expired drivers license and driving with an invalid drivers license. Maedene Crenshaw, 61, was arrested on a public intoxication charge.
Rusk officers wrote 64 traffic citations and 17 warnings between the end of May and June 3. They generated 48 reports between the same time period, beginning May 28.
Two traffic crashes were worked and officers responded to three false alarms, seven reports of suspicious noises or persons, one animal complaint and two disturbances. They assisted other agencies including Emergency Medical Services, Rusk Fire Department and Child Protection Services in seven incidents and looked into one reported burglary of a building.
Officers investigated two assaults, one family violence, one civil matter and five incident reports. They are still investigating two cases of child endangerment and one credit or debit abuse case. They also performed two escorts, assisted one motorist and received information on 10 ongoing cases.
