Shawna Tyer, a 32-year-old Rusk woman, was charged with two counts of child endangerment after reportedly passing out in her vehicle in Rusk. Police officers said she had two children in her vehicle and was found unresponsive in it.
According to preliminary reports, Rusk officers responded to a possible vehicle accident on Summerbreeze Street in Rusk May 28. Investigation of the incident indicated Tyer had driven to the street and allegedly nearly passed out multiple times while en route.
Officers stated this placed her children at risk. Tyer was arrested June 9 on two counts of endangering a child and booked into the Cherokee County Jail; she was released on a total of $10,000 bond, $5,000 for each count, on the same day.
