Tickets are $50, $45 and $40, and can be purchased at the UT Tyler Cowan Center box office. Regular box office hours are 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The special event is sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Z. Ornelas.

Bill Cosby is one of the most influential stars in America today. Without resorting to gimmickry or lowbrow humor, Bill Cosby’s comedy has a point of reference and respect for the trappings and traditions of the great American humorists such as Charlie Chaplin, Will Rogers, W.C. Fields and Groucho Marx.

“We feel very fortunate to have the legendary Bill Cosby for two performances this season,” said Susan Thomae-Morphew, director of The University of Texas at Tyler R. Don Cowan Fine and Performing Arts Center. “The anticipation has kept our phones ringing all season. The wait is over so get in line Jan. 28, and prepare for an experience of a lifetime!”

The 1984-92 run of “The Cosby Show” and his books “Fatherhood” and “Time Flies” established new benchmarks on how success is measured. His lifelong contributions to American culture were recognized with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1998 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in July 2002, America’s highest civilian honor.
