I remember: back in the mid to late 70's, they installed new benches and something was wrong with them.
When you sat on them, shreds of fiberglass were embedded in your jeans.
It was necessary to go back home before the dance to vacuum the fiberglass out.
My other memory is watching the Centennial Pageant in 1972.
It seemed that everyone I had ever known in my life was in the stadium that night.
The memory embodies everything that was wonderful about growing up in Jacksonville to me!
