Rusk State Hospital Employee Council player Stacy Blackburn, right, does a little celebrating astride her trusty steed after scoring a basket in the Donkeyball game as another player gets ready for the rebound. The teams faced off in the Donkeyball championships Saturday night at the Rusk High School gym. Proceeds from the game will benefit this year’s Rusk Senior Finale and the RSH council’s annual projects. — Progress photo by Cristin Ross

Editor’s note: Each week Nichols Intermediate School sixth-graders will write a paragraph, describing an animal needing to be adopted from Klein Animal Shelter. The Jacksonville Daily Progress will publish the descriptions on Mondays. For more information about adopting one of these animals or another, call the shelter at 903-586-7336.

If you are looking for a frisky puppy, then this is the dog for you. She is a lovely 9 month old black/tan Shepard mix. Already, she is spayed and up to date on all her shots!!! She is extremely gentle with kids and other animals, although she loves to play, play, play. She needs a loving home as well as a loving name. So come down to the shelter and give this puppy a chance to love you!
