MOUNT SELMAN – The sixth annual Bull Nettle Festival in Mount Selman is slated from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday Sept. 28, at the Cactus Speedway, 1595 County Road 3701 in Bullard. Proceeds benefit the Sharon Shriners.
Admission is one toy or a canned good item, which will be donated to area projects.
The Cherokee Family Motorcycle Club will host a bike show, while a chili cook-off begins at noon, followed by a pecan pie contest at 2 p.m. A poker run also is slated.
Other entertainment includes a Shriners' clown train, a cornhole toss and junk car races. There also will be a 6 p.m. auction, along with a 7 p.m. barn dance featuring the bands Smith County Line and The Drifting Outlaws, according to www.bullnettlefest.com.
