NEW SUMMERFIELD – City leaders will act on ordering a May 2 municipal election, as well as consider the replacement of police body cameras during a 6:30 p.m. meeting of the New Summerfield City Council on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at the 13280 State Highway 110 North at the city hall. The council also will discuss in executive session topics of a new hire for the New Summerfield Police Department – Kelly Ray – and a 90-day employee evaluation for Officer Tommy Kerzee. Action, if any, will take place when the council reconvenes into open meeting. Other meeting agenda items include: • Consider/act on waiving utility tap fees for Cherokee County Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace & Constable office: • Consider/act on a utility report presented by Peter Eads; • Consider/act on police report by Reynold Humber; and • Consider/act on a consent agenda that includes minutes from previous meeting(s), a finance update and bill paying.
