Randall Chandler promoted to director of public and community services

Randall Chandler has been promoted to Director of Public & Community Services. Over Randall’s 27- year career he has held multiple positions, most recently as Associate Director of Public & Community Services.

The Director of Public and Community Services works directly for the City Manager and, is responsible for daily operations of Public and Community Services. Public and community services includes water production, wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater collections, streets, drainage, parks, recreation, utility billing, development services and buildings.

Chandler’s first position was building maintenance from 1992 to 1997, after which he became pretreatment coordinator until 2001. He served as assistant utilities director until October 2016, utilities director until July 2018, and has since served as associate director of public and community services.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity,” Chandler said.

“I have enjoyed serving my hometown for so many years and can now give back at a higher level.”

Chandler said continuing to capitalize on the city’s efforts to streamline customer service and operations processes is a major focus.

“Randall was the best choice for the job,” said City Manager Greg Smith. “Randall’s knowledge and vast experience in the organization were qualities the city was pursuing. His leadership ability and dedication to customer service will continue to lead public and community services into the future.

Chandler has been married to his wife Rachel for 22 years, and have three son’s Tanner 20, Ty 14, and Tate 10.
