CHEROKEE COUNTY – A Rusk woman was pronounced dead at the scene Wednesday evening following a one-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 69 north of Rusk.
According to preliminary reports, at 6:38 p.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to a fatal car crash approximately four miles north of Rusk on US 69.
Rachael Paralee Finley, 38, of Rusk was traveling north along Highway 69 “when, for a yet-to-be determined reason,” the 2001 Toyota Sequoia she was driving veered off the roadway to the left, and began rolling several times, crossing County Road 1505 before coming to a rest, said Sgt. Jean Dark, public information officer for DPS-Tyler
Finley was pronounced dead at the scene by Cherokee County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Judge Brenda Dominy and transported to Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville, she said.
The crash remains under investigation.
