CHEROKEE COUNTY – Area public and private schools will be closed during the week of Nov. 25-29 for Thanksgiving break, while all county and municipal offices within Cherokee County will be closed Thursday and Friday (Nov. 28-29) for the holiday.
However, the City of Cuney municipal offices will be closed only on Thanksgiving Day, as are the Jacksonville Progress, U.S. post offices and many financial institutions.
Jacksonville College and the BMA Theological Seminary – both in Jacksonville – do not have classes scheduled the week of Nov. 25.
However, the seminary library will be open from 7:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Monday through Wednesday of Thanksgiving week.
Additionally, Republic Services has announced that trash service will run one day behind regular schedule, beginning with services normally slated the day a holiday falls upon – in this case, on Thursday, Nov. 28.
