WELLS – A badly decomposed body discovered in a local field Saturday has been sent to Tyler for autopsy, said Wells Police Chief Harold Rapsilver.
Police received a call around noon Saturday from a property owner who discovered the body, he said.
“We're trying to positively ID the person,” he said Monday. “The body was in a state of decomposition for several weeks, and is a male of unknown age. We hope that maybe tomorrow or the next day we'll have the case wrapped up, but for now, it is still under investigation and have not released any other information.”
