On Thursday, August 15, 2013, we had a main line water break in my yard.
I called the water department. They were here by about 1:30 p.m.
After arrival they called and got other lines marked as electric, telephone, gas and sewer, all buried on the same side of the street.
As they dug with the backhoe the electric line was hit, which caused fireworks. The electricity went off for several hours in our neighborhood. After getting the electricity repaired, the crew went back to work to repair the water line.
The crew worked until water was installed, about 1:30 a.m.
By Friday morning, these guy worked approximately 16 hours from the time they started work on Thursday a.m.
I did not hear any of the crew complain about having to continue to work until they got the water back on. I know they were very tired.
I would like the City of Jacksonville and the residents of the city to know that they have some outstanding employees.
The crew that worked the long day to repair the water leak was Danny Knowlton, Brian Rhymes, Danny Jones, Sedric Hill, Randy Chandler and David Brock.
We are fortunate to have qualified employees.
