“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” [Genesis 1:1]
Before “In the beginning”. God conceptualized His great, perfect plan.
He would create an endless universe with one green planet within it. He would place the planet in a precise location in the universe to have all it needed to sustain His creation. It would have water and air and vegetation and animals of many kids. He would call it Earth
Then, when all was just right, He would bring forth the crown of His creation – man. He would create human beings, male and female. He would place them in the most beautiful part of Earth. He would give them everything they needed to enjoy a perfect life. He would give them dominion over all the earth. He would give them the ability to reproduce and instruct them to do so. God would instruct them in they activities He knew would bring them happiness. They would have nothing to worry about: no fear, no illness, no worries. Just simple, joyful, peaceful, perfect life. And it was good.
They were only prohibited from one thing. “Do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.”
[Genesis 2:17] For a time, the humans were happy and carefree, but they broke the only rule. Man fell and sin entered the world. The perfect life for man was no more.
From that point the sins of man grew, and their relationship with God weakened. This was no surprise to the Creator, and He had devised a plan to bring man back to Him. He came to Earth and lived among them. Born of a virgin, He entered life on Earth as Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah.
Jesus was the perfect man. Known as the second Adam, He would offer reconciliation of man to God. He would take the sins of all mankind and die a horrible death on a cross for their salvation. He would return to heaven. The only thing each human being had to do was accept Him as their Lord and Savior and believe in Him.
God’s perfect plan remains in effect today. God loves His creation, and He desires that none should perish into eternal suffering. “The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” [2 Peter 3:9] The choice is ours. God created man with free will to chose his destiny. It is a simple choice: choose Jesus and have eternal life. Reject Jesus, the Son of God, and suffer eternal death.
As planned by God, Jesus will return to earth. At a time known only to Father God, Jesus will return to claim those who have believed in Him and take them home. [Mark 5:27] His perfect plan will come to fruition, and the saved will enjoy perfect peace.
There remains but one question, where do you fit in God’s plan? If you believe that Jesus is your Lord and Savior and follow Him, you will spend eternity in heaven. If you do not believe, you will suffer unspeakable sorrow for all eternity in hell. Choose life! Choose Jesus!
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” -- John 14:1-4
