Lufkin 60, Jacksonville 48: LUFKIN — Lufkin got a much-needed win to keep the Panther playoff hopes alive on Friday by beating Jacksonville, 60-48, in Lufkin. The Panthers are now 20-10, 5-4, while the Indians own a 9-18, 0-9 record. Jacksonville will host Nacogdoches at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Troup 38, Sabine 31: LIBERTY CITY — Troup picked up a big road triumph on Friday night by claiming a 38-31 decision over Sabine in Liberty City. Bracey Cover pumped in 15 points to lead the Tigers (21-9, 6-3) in scoring. Kedrick Frazier added nine points and Clayton Vickers canned eight. Cover hit three triples and Frazier had one. Troup is scheduled to entertain White Oak at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday.
Brook Hill 60, T.K. Gorman 22: TYLER — Chandler Fletcher went off for 17 points and TyJuan Cannon added 14 in Brook Hill's 60-22 flogging over T. K. Gorman on Friday evening. TyShaun Cannon put in 11 for the Guard (16-7, 3-1). Brook Hill led 24-6 at halftime and never looked back. The Guard will continue conference play at 8 p.m. on Tuesday by hosting Dallas Christian.
Alto 64, Cushing 52: CUSHING — Alto's Skylar Atkins scored 29 points on Friday night when the Yellowjackets notched a 64-52 victory over the Bearcats of Cushing. Alto (3-2 in district) did most of the heavy lifting in the first half and led 28-13 at the break. Kurrin Sai Jackson poured in 18 points and Keithan Jenkins had six for the 'Jackets.
Mexia 80, Rusk 33: RUSK — Mexia showed those in attendance at Eagle Coliseum on Friday just why they are in first place in the District 19-4A standings. The Black Cats (4-0 19-4A) swallowed up the Eagles (0-3 19-4A), winning 80-33. On Tuesday Rusk travels to Madisonville.
