Balanced scoring attack propels Troup past Bullard, 49-44

WHITEHOUSE — With three men in double figures, Troup was able to get past Bullard, 49-44, Friday in the Jasper Ventures TABO Classic, which was hosted by Whitehouse High School.

Grayson Driggs led the way with 17 points, Bracey Cover pitched in 11 and Matthew Castillo had 10.

Troup sank nine triples — Driggs and Castillo had three each while Cover drained two — compared to the Panthers' five.

The game was tied at seven going into the second quarter. That's when Troup outscored Bullard 17-6 to take a 24-13 lead into the break.

Brett Meador had the hot hand for Bullard (2-3). Meador led his team with 15 points, which included four shots form behind the arc.

Matthew Kress chipped in nine for the Panthers.

Troup (3-0) has an open date on Tuesday, but will be in Beckville to take on the Bearcats at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
