Basketball: Rusk girls off to 4-1 start; Eagles still looking for first win


RUSK — The Rusk Lady Eagles are off to a 4-1 start under new head coach Briana Brooks.

The Rusk girls launched the season on a sour note by falling to Buffalo, 39-34 in Buffalo.

The Lady Eagles bounced back by earning a 57-20 blowout win over Tyler-All Saints and a 56-43 decision over Pollok Central.

Last Tuesday the Lady Eagles had a successful home opener by dumping Whitehouse, 45-31.

On Friday, Rusk continued the home stand by handing Waskom its first loss, The final score was 54-37 in favor of the Red and Black.

The Eagles opened their new season last Tuesday with a 72-20 loss to the Nacogdoches Dragons.

On Friday, Center downed the Eagles 62-51.

Rusk will look to garner its first win of the season at 7:30 p.m. on Tue., Dec. 3 when Hallsville comes to town.
