Lon Morris College drubbed the East Texas Baptist University JV 27-6 Monday night at Ornelas Stadium on the campus of ETBU.

With the win, the Bearcats improve to 3-2 on the year, heading into their next game which is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday against the Bacone University JV. That contest will be played in Muskogee, Okla.

LMC got a good overall effort from both its offensive and defensive units on Monday.

The ‘Cats rolled up nearly 375 of total offense while the LMC defenders held the Tigers to just six points.

The loss was the first of the year for the ETBU understudies as the team is now 2-1.

LMC was originally scheduled to play against the Louisiana College JV in Pineville, LA., but the Wildcats were forced to cancel the game due to not having a sufficient number of players.

The ‘Cats will face the TIgers again this season, traveling back to Marshall on Oct. 18 for the regularly scheduled meeting between the two clubs.

ETBU competes in the American Southwest Conference (NCAA Division III) while LMC is playing football for the first time in 70 years this fall.
