Bullard kept things interesting for the first 24 minutes, but it was Brownsboro that came on strong in the second half to win the game.
The Bears scored 28-unanswered points in the final 24 minutes of play to defeat the Panthers 49-21 in a District 17-3A game that was held at Panther Stadium on Friday evening.
Hunter Skelton reeled in a 35-yard pass from Kirk Bryant with 7:52 to go in the first stanza that enabled Bullard to tie the game at seven.
Brownsboro came right back and answered when Cody Strickland caught an 11-yard scoring reception from Ryan Owen that sent the Bears to a 14-7 advantage.
The opening segment ended with the teams being tied at 14 as Bullard got a 3-yard touchdown scamper from Korbin Howard at the 1:29 mark of the first to knot things up.
Bryant scored the Panther’s only touchdown of the second period on a 1-yard run that came with 2:24 to go in the half.
Following Weston Gray’s point after touchdown, Bullard and Brownsboro were deadlocked at 21 as the teams went into intermission.
Gray was 3-for-3 on point after tries in the game.
From that point on it was all Brownsboro however as four-different Bears added touchdowns in the final half to cement the verdict.
Bullard (3-6, 0-3 in district) closes out its campaign by traveling to Rusk on Friday.
The Bears wrap up the regular season with a 6-4, 2-2 record and will represent the conference in the state Class 3A playoffs as the third-place representative out of District 17-3A.
