When a 1-8 team faces an 8-2 team, things can get out of hand in a hurry, and that’s exactly what happened at Herrington Stadium on Friday night.

The Guard of Brook Hill scored 34 points in the first 12 minutes of play as the home team  completely wiped out Carrollton Christian 50-0 in a TAPPS, Division II bi-district contest played on a rainy night in Bullard.

Brook Hill (9-2) will meet either Austin School for the Deaf or Katy Faith West next week in an Area Round affair at a location to be announced.

Junior, Jared Dickey started the Brook Hill scoring parade by returning the opening kick off 67 yards for a touchdown.

By the time the horn had sounded to end the opening period, Tyler Baker had scored a 1-yard run, a 10-yard run and returned a pass interception 37 yards for six points while J. B. Moss hauled in a 41-yard scoring reception for Baker as the Guard put this one out of reach early.

Brook Hill scored nine points in the second stanza to go up 43-0 at intermission.

The Saints’ punter fumbled the ball in the end zone resulting in a Guard safety and Baker returned the ensuing kickoff 61 yards to pay dirt to account for the Brook Hill points in the second.

Brook Hill’s final score came with 3:35 to go in quarter three when Quinton Pile danced in from four yards out.

Caleb Latson connected on 6-of-7 point after touchdown attempts for Brook Hill.

Gunnar Dorsey and Dylan Horinek each had 33 yards of rushing to pace the Guard.

Spurring on the defensive shutout for Brook Hill was Tallen Harris, Ross Lee, Grady Dennis, Jared Dickey and Baker — the Saints could muster up just 63 total yards on the evening.
