Brook Hill volleyball advances to Final Four for the first time

The Brook Hill Lady Guard volleyball team will take on Carrollton-Prince of peace at 6 p.m. Friday in a TAPPS, Class 5A State Semi-final match. This is the first time brook Hioll has qualified for the state Final Four in school history. The state tournament will be played at West High School.

BULLARD — Brook Hill Volleyball has advanced to the Final Four for the first time in school history.

The Lady Guard defeated St. Michael's Catholic Academy 3-1 on Saturday in a TAPPS Class 5A regional final that took place at Mexia High School.

Brook Hill (21-6-3) won the opening set 26-24, and the second set, 27-25, only to have St. Michael's representing the Austin area, come back to capture the third game, 15-25.

The Lady Guard rebounded in the following game by winning 25-20.

Brook Hill will face Carrollton-Prince Of Peace at 6 p.m. Friday in a state semi-final match.

In the other semi-final pairing, San Antonio Christian, the District 5 winner, will meet the conference runner-up Holy Cross.

The two semi-final winners will collide at 10 a.m. Saturday in the state championship match.

All of the state tournament matches will be played at West High School.

Team members include: junior Kensi Holley, junior Anna Hardee, sophomore Mollee McCurley, senior Laurel Reed, senior Katherine Mondrik, junior Emily Livesay, sophomore Allyson Juarez, junior Lexi Turner, senior Natalie Travis, junior Mary Elizabeth Roberts, sophomore Belle Reed and sophomore Anna Conner.
