NEW CHAPEL HILL — Bullard won a pair of District 17-3A contests over Chapel Hill Friday night at Bulldog Gymnasium.
The Lady Panthers bombed the Lady Bulldogs, 70-28, behind a 22-point performance by Christina Hatten.
The Bullard girls are now 24-8, 8-0 in district.
The Panthers outscored the Bulldogs 9-5 in overtime to escape with a 77-74 verdict over Chapel Hill. Bullard drained 15 buckets from behind the arc with Lance Anding finishing as the game’s leading scorer with 32 points, including nine rainbows.
The Bullard boys improve to 22-9, 6-1 in league action as a result of the victory.
Both Bullard teams return home Tuesday to face Spring Hill. The Lady Panthers hit the court at 6 p.m. followed by the Panthers at 7:30 p.m.

Chapel Hill offered little resistance as the Lady Panthers quickly jumped out to a 16-4 lead after one quarter before taking a commanding, 40-12, lead into intermission. Nine Lady Panthers made their way into the score book with Minta Spears (16) being the additional double-digit point maker for the Lady Panthers. Ashley Ricci added nine points, followed by Samantha Phillips with six and Ally Covalt with five. The Lady Bulldogs were paced offensively by a 13-point game from Whitney Justice. Bullard had tremendous success from beyond the arc as Hatten fired in six long balls, Spears buried three and Heather Camp tossed in one.

Bullard, unable to hold on to a 42-28 halftime lead — Chapel Hill bounced back to outscore the Panthers 41-27 over the final-two periods — excelled in the bonus segment by outscoring the Bulldogs 8-5 to earn the hard-fought loop victory. Other key contributors for the Panthers include, Koby Greene with 14 points, Josiah Rosebury with 11 and Daniel Howard who netted 10. Willie Clark and Jordan Williams scored 24 and 17 points, respectively for the Bulldogs.
