Rusk Lady Eagle Softball

Early May means one thing for Rusk Lady Eagle softball fans: it's time to gas up the vehicles and get ready for a trip or two to Fairfield, which could be called the Lady Eagles' post season roost, as the Rusk girls have made a habit of playing a slew of games at Don Posey Field over the past several seasons.

The Lady will be playing the West Lady Trojans this go around.

Game 1 will take place at 6 p.m. (tentative) on Friday night, with the remaining game (s) set for Saturday at the same venue.

The early scouting reports indicate that there could be a plethora of runs scored as Rusk bombed Pollok Central, 16-1, in the bi-district round while West pounded Rockdale by the scores of 17-5 and 11-4 in the Lady Trojans' bi-district series.

Rusk, coached by Ashley Renner, is 19-7 on the year, while West will coming sorting a 24-6 slate.
