Fightin' Maiden volleyball loses to Marshall

JACKSONVILLE HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Jacksonville and Marshall squared off in a District 16-5A volleyball match on Friday azfternoon at the John Alexander Gymnasium. The Lady Mavericks came away with a 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 22-25, 25-11) victory over Jacksonville.

Ka'Lessia Anderson (8 kills, 4 digs, 5 blocks, 1 ace), Tykeria Tilley (6 kills, 6 digs, 2 aces), Tamia Tucker (5 kills, 2 blocks) and Maegan Holliday (3 kills, 3 digs) lead Jacksonville on the offensive side.

Ashley Freeney, the Fightin' Maiden setter collected a kill, 13 assists and 13 digs.

Kristen Gonzalez supplied five digs and Angie Romero had a kill, two digs and a block.

Jacksonville will close out the season at home Tuesday versus Nacogdoches. The varsity match should get under way around 6 p.m.
