DALLAS - Jacksonville's Fightin' Maiden basketball team returned to action on Thursday and Friday by posting a 2-1 record at the 80th Annual Dallas Independent School District Holiday Invitational.
Jacksonville creamed Frisco Heritage on Thursday, winning 56-21.
Heritage dropped to 3-8 with the loss.
Later in the day the Maidens garnered another victory by beating Parish Episcopal, 43-27.
Grace Abercrombie recorded a dominating performance by scoring 12 points while pulling down 14 rebounds.
Tamika Tucker also collected a double-double by canning 17 points to compliment a 12-rebound outing.
Jacksonville point guard Alexis Calderon amassed 11 assists in the game.
On Friday, the Maidens came up short against Plano Pope John Paul II.
The Lady Cardinals moved to 21-3 after downing Jacksonville, 55-35.
The Lady Cardinals are ranked No.2 in the latest TABC Class 6A Privates/SPC poll.
Jacksonville (11-7) will host state-ranked Fairfield (19-2) at 2 p.m. Monday (varsity only) at the John Alexander Gymnasium. The Lady Eagles are fresh off of a first place finish in the Aggieland Invitational late last week.
District 16-5A play will resume on Friday when the Maidens travel to Marshall.
