Former Lon Morris College women's basketball standout, Christy Willis, a native of Houston, has apparently taken a liking to Shreveport, La.

After spending last season at Hampton University (NCAA, Division I), Willis transferred to LSU-Shreveport (NAIA, Division I)  in the off season.

The 5-foot-8, junior guard, continues to excel for the Lady Pilots, who are currently 8-5 overall, 6-1 in Red River Athletic Conference games.

Willis is averaging 10 points an outing while also supplying the Lady Pilots with nearly five rebounds a game.

Willis scored a season-high 22 points on Nov. 28 as LSU-Shreveport humbled Huston-Tillotson 89-59 on that day.

She is averaging 24.5 minutes per night and, just as she did at LMC, Willis continues to be very adept beyond the 3-point arc.

Willis is 28-of-68 (41.2-percent) from long range for the Lady Pilots.

She also has recorded a 10-assist game this season (versus Southwestern).

Willis' brother, Kent Willis, is currently the Dean of Students at LMC.
