Jacksonville started off strong, outplaying the visiting Nacogdoches Dragons over the first-three innings of Tuesday's District 14-4A contest between the two rivals, but the Dragons hit their stride late and went on to log a 9-1 win over the Tribesmen on a near-perfect night for baseball at Summers Norman Field.

The Indians, 0-5 in loop play, had the bats working early on, out hitting the Dragons in the opening-three stanzas while getting flawless play in the field.
