Jacksonville boys top Bridge City and Central Heights

JACKSONVILLE FIGHTIN' INDIAN BASKETBALL

The Jacksonville Fightin' Indians basketball team extended its win streak to three games on Thursday by logging triumphs over Bridge City and Central Heights on opening-day play of the Central Heights Holiday Hoopsfest.

The Indians (4-6) downed the Cardinals 56-50 and blasted the host Blue Devils 79-53 in the nightcap.

Vito High erupted for 21 points, which included four treys, to lead the Tribe charge in the win over Bridge City (7-5).

Desmond Fuller pitched in 13 and Jonathan Denmon scored nine points.

Jacksonville exploded for 22 points in the final period to rally to victory.

In the blowout over Central Heights (1-7) three Indians scored in double figures.

Denman led the way with 17 points, which included four triples and canned 16 points.

Scoring nine of his 11 points in the second was JaModerick Sherfield.

Devin McCuin and Kameron Conwell contributed five points apiece.
