Jeremy Chappelle of Jacksonville, a former standout at The Brook Hill School, had four catches for 40 yards including a 20-yard catch in Stephen F. Austin State University’s 59-14 drubbing of the University of Albany (NY) Saturday night at Homer Bryce Stadium.

It was the first significant action of 2010 for the 6-foot-2, 220 pound freshman wideout. Chappelle played briefly in the Lumberjacks’ 48-7 season-opening loss to Texas A & M in College Station but did not have a catch.

SFA (1-1) is currently ranked No. 10 in the Sports Network Top 25 poll while the Football Championship Series (FCS) Coaches Top 25 poll has the ‘Jacks at No. 11.

SFA is slated to face Northern Iowa University (1-0) at 4:05 p.m. Saturday. That game will be played at the Uni-Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

The ‘Jacks will return home on Sept. 25 to take on Lamar University at 6 p.m.
