Jaguars rev up for homecoming by beating Lee, 94-86

JACKSONVILLE COLLEGE JAGUAR BASKETBALL

BAYTOWN — Nicholas Gazelas pumped in 22 points and Henry Hampton scored 21 to help send Jacksonville College to a 94-86 victory over Lee College on Tuesday evening in Jacksonville.

JC (12-10, 5-8) will host Blinn College at 6 p.m. Saturday, which will be a part of the college's annual homecoming festivities.

The Jags forced the Rebels (14-10, 5-80 to turn the ball over 19 times. By comparison, JC had 12 turnovers in the game.

The seven extra possessions, no doubt, aided the Jag cause.

Other JC team members to record noteworthy games included Braxton Lovings with 16 points, Mohamad Kraidly, who tossed in 14, and Justin Blunt. Blunt led the team in rebounding with 11.

Ishmael Cruz Paris knocked down 22 points for the Rebels.

The two clubs will battle again on Feb. 29 in Baytown.
