JMS Football Report: Braves take 3 of 4 from Whitehouse


JMS 8th “A” 14, Whitehouse 8 — Ryder Williams tossed a 50-yard touchdown pass to Karmelo Clayborne and Davy Smith scooped up a Whitehouse fumble and returned in 90 yards for a touchdown to lead Jacksonville Middle School 8th “A” to a 14-8 victory over the Wildcats. The Braves moved to 2-1 with the win. Defensive standouts for JMS were Jose Aguirre, Decamron Devereaux, Kmari Gipson, Zadarius Hinton, Reese Hicks and Ryan Walker. Jayden Boyd led the Braves in rushing.


Whitehouse 8th “B” 14, JMS 8th “B” 0 — Although the Braves were shut out, several players were recognized by their coaches for their efforts. That group included Coen Devillier, William Alexander, Willie Brown, Dacalvion “Red” Edwards and Walker Dublin. JMS 8th “B” are now 1-1 on the year.


JMS 7th “A” 38, Whitehouse 7th “A” 14 — SirMondrick Gray set up shop in the end zone after scoring four touchdowns to guide the Braves to the 38-14 triumph. Reggie Sirls added two touchdowns, including a pick six that covered 70 yards. Offensive players of impact were Brady McCown, Michael Taylor and Michael Miles. Offensive linemen Palmer Thompson and Luis Mancera also played well in the trenches.


JMS 7th “B” 14, Whitehouse 7th “B” 8 — The Braves 7th “B” team even its slate at 1-1 with the 14-7 win over the Wildcats. Outstanding offensive players were Jayden Martin, Derek Owens, Dezarrick Sessions, Randarriuz Dewberry and Jayden Polk.
