RUSK — A quintet of Rusk Eagles were named to the District 7-4A-II All-District team following a vote by the league's head coaches.

On the offensive side, D-Jay Glenn, a senior running back, Bryce Hoffman, a junior center, Sean Bixler, a senior tight end and junior wide out Isiah Francis picked up First Team mentions.

Jack Patton, a sophomore safety, was Rusk's lone defensive representative on the First Team.

Second Team picks included, Jake Hugghins, sophomore; Tyler Wilbanks, senior; Austin McKinney, senior; Jonathan Rojo, junior; Drew Dorsey, senior; LaTerance Carter, senior; Bryan Paddock, senior and Bixler, who was a Second Team defensive end.

Rojo was a double selection from the Ted Patton-coached Eagles, being named as a punter and placekicker.

Dreashaun Hannah of Mexia was picked as the District Most Valuable Player with Christian Brown of Waco Connally garnering Offensive MVP accolades.

The Defensive MVP honor went to Fairfield's Dedrick Garner.

Brown and Garner, both 12th-graders, were unanimous selections.

Another pair of unanimous choices, both representing Fairfield, were Tarrance Rischer (Defensive Newcomer of the Year) and Josh Gallegos (Lineman of the Year).

The Offensive Newcomer of the Year went to Jacob Spivey of Lorena.

The Mexia coaches were named as 7-4A-II's top coaching staff.
