Jaguar basketball camp June 18-21
Jacksonville College Boys Basketball Camp will be held June 18-21 at the Curtis Carroll Field House on W. Pine St. on the campus of Jacksonville College.
The camp will be conducted 8:30 until noon each date. The camp is open to grades: First-sixth boys (Grades they just finished). The cost is $50 per camper. All campers will receive a camp T-shirt on Thursday June 21st.

A camp store will be open during camp hours for drinks.
Competition day will be Thursday June 21 with awards and contests. Registration will go until first day of camp.

Jacksonville Fightin’ Maiden basketball camp will be held in two sessions.May 29-June 1 the Jacksonville High School gym.
Session 1 is 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for girls going into the sixth through ninth grades. Pre-registration is $25 by mail, regulation registration is $30 by 8 a.m. First day of the camp is May 29.
Session II is 1:30-5 p.m. for girls going into the second through fifth grades.Pre-registration is $25 by mail, regulation registration is $30 by 12:30 p.m.. First day of the camp is May 29.
The camp features individualized instruction, quality and quantity repetitions, camp T-shirts and basketball, individual awards for competitions, daily awards and certificates, age and ability group, equality of playing time, daily devotional, high qualified camp staff from former varsity players and coaches.
Each camper should come dressed in T-shirt, shorts and basketball shoes. Participants should bring a towel and drinks such as water or a sports drink.

Alto, Jacksonville sports banquets set
The Alto sports banquet is set May 14 at 7 p.m. in the Alto High School cafeteria.

The Jacksonville Athletic Booster Club Sports Banquet to be held in the Jacksonville High School Cafeteria on May 18 at 5:30 p.m.
Officers for the 2007/2008 school year will be elected and presented at the Sports Banquet.

tournament June 9-10
Birmingham Forest Golf Club in Rusk will host the 16th Annual James Holcomb Memorial tournament June 9th and 10th. Format is a two person scramble. Entry fee for the team is $160. Cash prizes of $600.00, $400 and $200 will be paid to the winning teams in each flight.
The tournament will be preflighted by the lowest handicap. Teams must have a minimum combined handicap of 10.
Bullard basketball camp set
Lady Panther basketball camp will be held June 18-21 for all incoming third through ninth grade girls.at the Bullard High School Gym.
The cost is $40 for the first child, $25 for each additional child.
The camp will be conducted 8:30-11 a.m. (third – fifth). Gym will be open at 8-12 noon – 3:00 p.m. (sixth – ninth). The gym will be open at 11:30 a.m.
Competitions include free throw, hot shot, three on three, five on five, and 3-point shooting.In order to secure a place in camp and insure that camper will receive a shirt, camp fee or $20 deposit must be returned by May 22.. Campers will be accepted the day of the camp, but cannot guarantee a shirt for them.

Bullard Panther baseball camp
The Panther Baseball Camp will be held May 28-31 from 9 a.m.- noon at the Bullard baseball field.
It is a comprehensive working camp designed to cover the fundamentals of baseball for boys ages 7-14 (14-year old must be an entering freshman).
Our key objectives are to help our future athletes develop their skills. Campers are required to supply their own glove, shoes and workout apparel. The cost for each camper is $50, each additional child in a family will be $25.

Rusk summer basketball league set
RUSK — A men’s summer basketball league is being formed in Rusk.
The league is for players 18 years old and over for games Sunday in the RHS gym. The fee is $100 per team. Each team will have a maximum of 10 players and rosters can be changed after the second week of play. Two 20 minute halves will be played.

The Jacksonville Jaguar Youth Football Camp will be held May 26 at Mauldin Field.
The camp is open to boys age 4-12.
The camp will be include instruction in basic blocking skills, pass drills, kicking, agility and other drills 9 a.m. to noon. From 1-2:30 p.m. will be scrimmage time.
The fee is $30 for the first child, $25 each for additional child in same family.
Registration forms can be picked up at the Jacksonville Recreation Center. Deadline for entry is May 23.

Golf tournament results
The 2007 East Texas Area Council of Boys Scouts held a recent golf tournament at Eagle’s Bluff Country Club.
Members of the first place team were; Kevin Walker, Bill Walker, Doby Dear and Robert Richey.
Second place members were Lee Portwood, Jim Rapp, Jerry Ashworth and Drew Von Eschenbach.
Third place was Joseph Ornelas, Cecil Ferguson, Gordon Hensley and Glenn Shipley.
Texas Dirt Race at Mud Creek Park
The Texas Cross County Racing Association Dirt Bike Race will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Mud Creek Off Road Park east of Jacksonville.
A crowd of more than 3,000 is expected to attend.
