NACOGDOCHES — Jaylon Freeney, a senior, scored both of Jacksonville's goals on Tuesday night when the Tribe returned home from Nacogdoches with another “W” in the win column.

Jacksonville moves to 11-4-1, 3-1 with the victory while the Dragons stand at 12-4-4, 1-1-2.

Earning assists on the Freeney scores was Jovanny Garcia and Lizandro Escareño.

The Tribe defenders played exceptionally well, according to Jacksonville head boys soccer coach Rudy Jaramillo.

“We got great defensive play from our entire back line,” Jaramillo said.

That group includes Oscar Servin, Jacksonville College-signee Cooper Coughlin, Alvin Vazquez, Peyton Robinson, Illian Mena and Rafael Calvillo.

At 7 p.m. Friday the Tribe will continue district action by playing Hallsville at the Historic Tomato Bowl.
