Troup boys take third place at Glen Evans Classic


Saturday games

Frankston 58, Troup 49: Frankston took a 34-23 lead at the break and managed to fend Troup off in the second half to win second place in the classic. The Tigers (14-6) ended up as the third place team, with Callisburg winning three of its four games to claim first place. Tournament Most Valuable Player Brink Bizzell fired in 17 points for the Indians. Troup had three men finish in double figures, led by Kedrick Frazier with 14. Grayson Driggs dropped in 11 and Matthew Castillo pumped in 10. Frazier and Blake Wood earned spots on the All-Tournament team from Troup.

Troup 59, Beckville 28: Logan Womack and Frazier chipped in 10 points apiece to spark Troup to the runaway win. Wood added nine while Driggs and Bracey Cover tossed in eight apiece. The Tigers led 29-8 at halftime and never looked back.

Callisburg 62, New Summerfield 44; New Summerfield 66, Beckville 51.

Friday games

Troup 43, Callisburg 41: After trailing 30-19 at halftime, the Wildcats from Callisburg rallied in the second half to make a game of it. Cover (15), Cover (10), Driggs (7) and Frazier (7) led Troup in scoring. London Landiff poured in 23, which included eight buckets from beyond the arc, for the Wildcats.

Troup 73, New Summerfield 35: The Tigers outscored New Summerfield 22-9 in the second period in route to notching the lopsided victory. Frazier (17), Driggs (16) and Cover (13) all finished in double figures for the winners. Ary Hernandez scored 13 points for the Hornets, who finished in fourth place in the classic, and Kawson Ayalia tossed in 10.
