Texas State Open: Bullard's Elliott in top 10 after 2 rounds

UPDATED (5:18 p.m., Thursday): Elliott moved into a 4-way tie for second after firing a 63 on Thursday. He is six strokes in back of the tournament leader, Kyle Pritchard (Castroville, Texas).

 

 

TYLER — Blake Elliott of Bullard is in a tie for 10th place after 36 holes at the 49th Tannos Exploration II/Patterson-UTI Texas State Open.

The former McNeese State University (NCAA Division I, Southland Conference) standout carded identical rounds of 67 on Tuesday and Wednesday to sit at 6-under par.

Ryan Grider of Lewisville leads the field at the halfway point at 12-under par 118. He will take a 2-stroke lead into Thursday's third round.

Former Dallas Cowboy quarterback Tony Romo failed to make the cut on Wednesday, finishing at 4-over par 144.

Elliott is scheduled to tee off at 12:24 p.m. on Thursday.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude on Friday at the Cascades in Tyler.
