Volleyball: Lady Eagles garner bevy of post season awards

Members of Rusk High School's Area finalist volleyball team have received numerous post season honors.

Senior Jamyah Anderson was named as the District 19-4A Offensive Most Valuable Player, while Kaycee Johnson, a sophomore, earned the MVP Blocker accolade.

Voted to the All-district (first) team was seniors Grace Young and Haley Hancock and Emi Etheridge, a junior.

Kailee Millsap was a second team pick from Rusk.

Lady Eagles Jaylei Wick and Faith Young picked up honorable mention plaudits.

Earning spots on the league's Academic All-District team was Lexie Stanley, Grace Young, Faith Long, Haley Hancock, Jaylei Wick, Kendal Gates, Kailee Millsap, Jamyah Anderson, Kara Wofford, Carson Trawick, Makenna Burkhalter and Emi Etheridge.

The Lady Eagles are coached by Billie Alley (head coach), Brenda Lindsey, Deana Hancock and Katy Stover.
