Volleyball: Maidens come up short in Lufkin

LUFKIN — Lufkin's Lady Panthers kept up its winning ways by defeating Jacksonville 3-0 on the Lady Panthers' home court on Friday afternoon.

Set scores were 25-19, 25-17 and 25-13.

The Lady Panthers are now 10-16, 3-2 in conference play.

Tykeria Tilley (5 kills, 4 digs), Meagan Holliday (5 kills, 3 digs, 1 block, 1 ace) and Ka'Lessia Anderson (3 kills, 3 digs, 1 block) were the offensive leaders for Jacksonville.

Ashley Freeney wound up with 15 assists, 13 spikes and one ace, Lauryn Johnson chipped in 11 digs and Kristen Gonzalez had seven digs and three aces for the Maidens.

Jacksonville (1-4 in district) will travel to Marshall on Tuesday.
