Volleyball: Maidens send 5 seniors off with a victory

JACKSONVILLE FIGHTIN MAIDEN VOLLEYBALL

The 2019 volleyball season came to a close for Jacksonville on Tuesday night at the John Alexander Gymnasium where a win was produced and five seniors were honored.

Jacksonville completed the season sweep over Nacogdoches by taking a three set win (25-20, 25-16, 25-17) over the Lady Dragons, who ended their season winless in conference play.

Playing their final match in a Jacksonville uniform was Ka'Lessia Anderson, Lauryn Johnson, Tykeria Tilley, Tamia Tucker and Jordyn Whitaker.

Anderson (9 kills, 1 dig, 2 blocks, 3 aces), Tucker (5 kills, 1 dig, 1 block) and Whitaker (4 kills, 5 digs) led Jacksonville's offense.

Tilley added two kills, 10 digs and a pair of aces while Maegan Holliday tallied two spikes, four scoops and an ace.

Ashley Freeney came up with 19 assists (team high) to compliment her five digs and one assist.

Johnson amassed a team best 12 digs while Kristen Gonzalez supplied a kill, nine digs and four aces.

Morgan Washburn pitched in four digs and Angie Romero had one.
