Prep Volleyball: Bullard 3, Rusk 1

Bullard 3, Rusk 1: RUSK — State-ranked Bullard moved to 24-5 following a 3-1 (20-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-13) decision over Rusk at Eagle Coliseum on Tuesday night. The Lady Panthers have now won nine of their last 10 matches. Bullard and henderson will face off in the conference opener in Bullard at 4:30 p.m. Friday. Rusk has an open date on Friday.


Rusk 3, Athens 2: ATHENS — The Lady Eagles and Athens played a very competitive match on Friday afternoon, with the Red and Black able to come away with a five set win. Game scores were: 16-25, 25-15, 25-16, 22-25, 16-14. Rusk's sub-varsity teams were in Athens on Saturday. The junior varsity went 3-0 in the Athens Tournament, while the freshmen captured two of their three matches.


Spring Hill 3, Jacksonville 0: LONGVIEW — Playing in its final match before hosting John Tyler at 4:30 p.m. Friday in the district opener, the Jacksonville Maidens were defeated 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-22) by Spring Hill on Tuesday night. Ka'Lissia Anderson (7 kills, 1 block), and Jordyn Whitaker (4 kills, 2 digs) led Jacksonville offensively. Ashley Freeney (14 assists, 2 digs, 1 ace), Tykeria Tilley (9 digs) and Kristen Gonzalez (6 digs, 3 aces) also had noteworthy efforts for the Maidens.
