The success of the Alto High School football team usually begins and ends with the running game.
On Friday night at Yellowjacket Stadium, and before a large homecoming crowd, the Mean Sting's ground game was in top form as Alto runners ran for 330 yards in a 41-28 victory over Kerens.
The win puts to rest a two-game 'Jacket losing streak and avenges a 21-6 defeat to the Bobcats last season.
Alto will take a 3-2 record into its District 10-A-I game at Cushing on October 7 — the Mean Sting have an open date this week.
Meanwhile, Kerens drops to 2-3 on the year as a result of the loss.
